ABOUT DAPAH CREATIVE

The name says it all — if you know, you know.

DAPAH Creative is named after our children, whose initials make up every letter of our business name. It started as a creative outlet and a way to do something we love together as a family. What it became is something we're incredibly proud of.

We're Frances and Troy, based in Northland, New Zealand, and we've been hand-painting doormats since 2020. Every single mat that leaves our studio is painted by us — by hand, with marine-grade paint, on 100% natural coir. No overseas factories. No machines doing the work for us. Just the two of us, some paint, and a genuine love of making something real.

Handmade with Pride

We could have taken the easy route — but that's not who we are. Our coir doormat bases are sourced from quality overseas suppliers, but everything that makes a DAPAH Creative mat what it is happens right here in New Zealand. Every design is painted by hand, by us, using marine-grade paint. Made fresh when you order it, packed with care, and shipped directly to your door.

Family at the Heart of Everything

The name DAPAH belongs to our kids — their initials, their legacy, their reminder of why we do what we do. Every mat we paint, every order we pack, every customer we help — it all comes back to them.

Running a family business means the people behind every order genuinely care about the outcome. When you buy from DAPAH Creative, you're not a transaction. You're someone we want to hear from — someone we want to see post a photo of their new front door, someone we hope smiles every single time they come home.

What We Make

We specialise in hand-painted doormats — designed and painted by us here in New Zealand, funny ones, personalised ones, custom ones, and ones that make your neighbours slightly jealous. Our range covers everything from laugh-out-loud designs to beautifully personalised family name mats, Te Reo welcomes, pet tributes, and everything in between.

A Note on How We Work

Every mat is made to order — which means yours is painted fresh, specifically for you, once your order comes in. We ask for 4–7 business days before dispatch, and we think you'll agree the wait is worth it.

We ship everywhere in New Zealand, urban and rural. Custom orders are always welcome — if you can imagine it, get in touch and we'll see what we can do.
